James Rex Kirk, Sr., age 84, died August 11, 1990 in a Tooele hospital.
Born November 2, 1905 in Ophir, Utah, to James P. and C. Irene Dalton Kirk. Married Dorothy H. Grow, October 22, 1928 in Ogden, Utah. Marriage solemnized June 14, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. High Priest in the LDS Church. Served on the Scout Commission, Ward Clerk, Bishops Counselor twice, Stake Clerk to five stake presidents, Stake Welfare Clerk, High Councilman, served a mission with his wife in Billings, Montana. He worked at IS&R, Bower Combined Metals, taught welding during World War II, was a parts man at Barrus Motors and was the Tooele County Clerk for 16 years.Survived by his wife, Tooele; son, Jay Rex Kirk, Jr.; daughters, Mrs. Ira (Gayle) Judd, Mrs. Blair (Barbara) Harrison, Mrs. Nolan (Christie) Steadman, Mrs. Tom (Susan) Perkins; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; sister, Neva Hawkins. Preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann and grandsons, James Brent Steadman and Todd Allen Perkins.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 11 a.m., Tooele North Stake Center, where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial: Tooele City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Tate Mortuary of Tooele.
