Zina Rice Engebretsen, 87, widow of the late Ray Engebretsen, died July 24, 1990, at the home of her daughter, Helen E. Lambert, in San Diego, California.
Born March 18, 1903, in Garland, Box Elder County, Utah to Hyrum Smith and Laura Smith Rice. A granddaughter of Lot and Laura Burdick Smith. Married Ray Engebretsen in the Salt Lake Temple, October 6, 1926. Active member LDS Church, including two missions to Norway with her husband and children. She also performed temple work in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, for over 20 years.Survivors: one sister, Helen Rice, Bountiful; sons and daughter, Judge Ragnar R. and wife Anne, Mission Viejo, California; Arden B. and wife Eleanor, Centerville, Delaware; Lt. Col. David H. and wife Maj. Laura, Aurora, Colorado; Mrs. Helen Lambert and husband, Dr. John O.; San Diego, California; 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.
Funeral service Saturday, August 11, 1990, 2:00 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple where friends may call from 12:30 p.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
