G. Milton Jameson, 86, of Orem, died August 6, 1990, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.
He was born May 12, 1904 a son of Alexander and Mary Amelia Larsen Jameson in Colonia Morelos, Sonora, Old Mexico. He married Norma Dee Kirkham June 27, 1930, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 5, 1985.He was named outstanding citizen of Orem. He served as Mayor of Orem from 1962-1966. He was a member of the state board of directors for Municipal League of Utah for two years while he was mayor. He was on the executive committee of the American Red Cross, Central Utah County Chapter. He was employed as the regional welfare coordinator of the Mt. Timpanogos Welfare Region. He served eight years in the Sharon Stake Presidency. He was a Bishop in the Sharon Stake from 1947-1952. He was a temple worker in the Provo LDS Temple.
Survivors include one daughter and three sons, Mrs. Jerry (Bonnie) York of Orem; Kirk Jameson, David Jameson both of Salt Lake City; and Kent Jameson of McCall, Idaho; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one brother, Oscar Jameson of Provo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 1990, at 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest 3rd Ward Chapel 1450 South 800 East in Orem. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 South State in Orem and also one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel.
Burial will be in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
