The civilians are coming! The civilians are coming!
Dugway Proving Ground's guards are going civilian, with approximately 30 military policemen scheduled to be replaced with about the same number of civilian police officers by Oct. 1, 1991."The Army Materiel Command did a survey and they said that it would be cheaper to have a `civilianized' police force in the long run than it would to have military police coming in and out," said Army Spec. Shawn Lunsfordhodson, public affairs specialist at Dugway.
"They haven't decided whether the provost marshal and the operations sergeant will remain military," he said.
