Centel Communications Systems, 2235 S. 1300 West, has changed its name to WilTel Communications Systems Inc., to reflect the acquisition of Centel's business systems unit earlier this year by WilTel.

The acquisition combined the country's largest distributor of customer premise telecommunications equipment and WilTel, the nation's only provider of data, voice and video network services exclusively for business customers."In addition to taking on the WilTel name, we have also enhanced our capabilities," said Tom Griffin, president of WilTel's Rocky Mountain Region. "By joining WilTel, we've become part of a bigger and more comprehensive nationwide telecommunications company," he said.
