Gov. Norm Bangerter recently appointed Lawrence A. Haines to the Utah Valley Community College Board of Trustees.
Haines founded Valtek, a Spring-ville valve manufacturer, in 1966. He is the company's chairman of the board."We at Valtek have supported the mission of the college, and I am enthusiastic about the chance I have to be involved with the college," he said.
Haines earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University. He is a senior member of the Instrument Soceity of America.

Haines lives in Mapleton, where he serves on the City Council. His term on the UVCC board expires June 30, 1995.
