James Evans, a freshman at Utah State University, is serving as youth coordinator of the Youth Division of the National Safety Council.

In this capacity, Evans meets quarterly with division officials at coordinating and planning meetings. Evans developed a State Fire Safety Program, which was supported by a $10,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency Corp. The program is available in every school in Utah.Evans also initiated a statewide All Terrain Vehicle Safety Program in cooperation with Utah State University Extension, Utah Farm Bureau, Utah PTA and the Utah State Office of Education.
