Allan Anderson, 79, of Salt Lake City, passed away on Dec. 13, 1991, in Palm Springs, California of heart failure.
He was born June 25, 1912 in Brigham City, a son of Heber and Judith Anderson. He got his education from Weber College and Utah State Agricultural College. He graduated with honors, thus receiving a teaching fellowship to Northwestern University. He lived for 49 years in Illinois, retiring in 1977 as Executive Vice President of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago. For 24 years, Mr. Anderson also lectured in the Evening Division of Northwestern University. During World War II he served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.Married to the former Margaret Garff, he is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Joseph H. (Mary) Barton, Bruce K. and David A., all of Calif.; one brother, Norman H., Brigham City; one sister, Jeannine Anderson, Centerville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 11 a.m., in the Cottonwood Stake Center, 1830 East 6400 South, where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawm Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. Donations may be sent to the Primary Childrens Medical Center, 100 North Medical Drive, SLC, UT 84113, in rememberance of Allan Anderson, a man of integrity and character who lived with grace and distinction.
