In the late `70s, Art Brogli was living in Salt Lake City. He made a recording called "Happy Yodeling" which was without question one of the finest tapes ever produced on Alpine yodeling.
I recently wrote to his old address in Salt Lake City hoping I could reach Mr. Brogli. I also noted on the envelope, "postmaster, forward on if necessary."And they with their usual past performance couldn't be bothered to look up the forwarding address. They simply marked the letter "no such address" and returned it to me.
I would like to contact Mr. Brogli and purchase another tape from him to replace mine. It is worn out. I am also hoping he has produced other tapes I could buy.
Would you please help me locate him? - P.Y., Washington.
Brogli hasn't been heard from for a number of years. And he didn't come to recent festivities at Snowbird celebrating its 20th anniversary.
At one point he lived in Santa Cruz, Calif. That is apparently no longer the case. We called long-distance information there and were told there was no listing for him.
Snowbird occasionally receives inquiries like yours. Unfortunately for you, the ski resort has sold out of his recordings.
Brogli, a native European, worked construction and operated the Swiss-built tram at Snowbird. He became well-known for his yodeling while he worked at the resort.
We welcome phone calls from anyone with information about Brogli or where his recordings can be purchased. Our number is 237-2170.
