Defensive tackle Steve Emtman of second-ranked Washington received the Lombardi Award as the nation's top college lineman in voting by a committee of writers, broadcasters and coaches.

Emtman, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound junior, made 60 tackles and 61/2 sacks, broke up three passes and had an interception for the Huskies (11-0), who play Michigan in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.Other finalists were defensive tackle Santana Dotson of Baylor, linebacker Marvin Jones of Florida State and offensive tackle Greg Skrepenak of Michigan.
