Elder Rex D. Pinegar, a member of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at Brigham Young University at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14.
Elder Pinegar also will present an award, "Focus on Excellence," to the LDS Church Magazines for outstanding communication service. Sponsored by BYU's Communications Department, the awards presentation and address by Elder Pinegar will take place in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.Elder Pinegar served as chairman of the educational psychology department at BYU from 1967 until his call in 1971 as president of the North Carolina-Virginia Mission. On Sept. 30, 1989, he was called as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy and as the executive director of the Curriculum Department of the church.
