Ruth Higham Saxey, age 79, passed away March 9, 1991, in Sandy, Utah, after a courageous struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born July 12, 1911, Salt Lake City, the daughter of Ambrose S. and Clara Hoffman Higham. Married Joseph Alfred Saxey, February 1, 1930, in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death March 6, 1941.Member of the LDS Church, she served as a teacher in the Primary and Mutual for many years. Ruth enjoyed working with ceramics and tinting photographs. She is remembered by her family and friends as a happy person with an optimistic outlook on life.

Survived by three daughters and one son: Connie and Tim Schieving, Kearns; Gloria and Dave Lord, North Salt Lake; Mike and Shirley Saxey, Sandy; Diane and Richard Carling, Salt Lake; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Hilton, Salt Lake; and close friend, Richard Vanwagenen. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12th, 12 Noon, in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Monday, 6:30-8:00 pm, and Tuesday, one hour prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
