The wife of a Moab-based Utah Highway Patrol officer was killed Sunday in a two-car accident on U-95 south of Hanksville, Wayne County.

Marion Mealey, 36, was killed around 5 p.m. Sunday. Her husband, Trooper John Mealey, 38, and three sons - ages 12, 11 and 8 - were injured and were transported by air ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction The 11-year-old boy suffered the most severe injuries and remains in critical condition.Marion Mealey was driving the family's car northbound when she apparently attempted a U-turn on a blind curve, according to investigating officers. The Mealey vehicle was hit by a car that was also traveling northbound.
