Hanging up his 10-gallon hat after 13 years of "Dallas," Larry Hagman insists the weekly tales of the rich and famous did more than make viewers ask, "Who shot J.R.?" Hagman, who starred as the ruthless Texas oilman J.R. Ewing, believes the show might actually have helped topple the Eastern bloc. "I think the opulence, the consumerism, the food, the cars - these things made (people) want more than their governments provided them," Hagman says in People magazine. The CBS prime-time soap opera goes off the air after a two-hour finale Friday.
