Former Washington Redskins quarterback Doug Williams, whose career was ended by a 1989 back injury, has been awarded a workers' compensation package worth nearly $1 million.

The Redskins contested Williams' claim, saying that since he hurt himself on a treadmill at his Louisiana home, the injury was not sustained in the course of his employment.
