CARIBBEAN VENDORS SELLING DOG, CAT MEAT

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) - Street vendors in this economically troubled Caribbean capital are passing off cat meat as beef and dog meat as rabbit, the mayor said Friday. Rafael Corporan de los Santos said the city government discovered the fraud when it began cracking down Sunday on unlicensed street vendors. So far, no health problems have been reported.
