Juab County Commissioners disbanded the Citizen Advisory Juab County Forest Service Committee after one of the committee members resigned.

"For personal reasons," wrote Betty Sanders in a letter of resignation she handed to commissioners May 6, "I choose to give up my seat and wish to thank the commission and committee members for their support and faith in me."Following an executive session, commissioners returned to report they had decided to abandon the committee. All matters of business will now go through the County Commission, said Commission Chairman Richard Brough.

The committee was appointed by the commission to meet with forest service representatives and represent the citizens of the area when the forest service closed Cottonwood Campground in Salt Creek Canyon. Roadside camping along Salt Creek from the junction to Bear Canyon was also prohibited by the forest service.
