Comedian Roseanne Barr is taking her husband's name and he is converting to her religion of Judaism, the couple announced Friday.
The wise-cracking Barr officially becomes Roseanne Arnold on Sunday, when she and her husband, Tom Arnold, plan to reaffirm their marriage vows in a ceremony at the University Synagogue in Los Angeles."It's a testimony that this marriage is working and that things are better than ever," Barr, the star of the ABC television series, "Roseanne," said in an interview.
"My family devotion is something people often overlook," she added.
Arnold said he completed his conversion to Judaism, his wife's faith, on Friday.
"I've been studying for the past nine months and I've learned about the religion and I've learned about my wife's values," Arnold said.
The conversion, he said, brings the couple and their family closer together.
Barr will be using her new name both professionally and privately.
Their film and television production company, Barnold Production, will be replaced by the new name, Wapello County Productions.
