Clad in Bengal blue and white, Brighton High School's class of '91 celebrated commmencement Thurs-day evening with fond reflections on the past and the promise of challenges ahead.

Kristine L. Roberts told her classmates to put their individual strengths, personalities and intellects to good use, saying, " Even though we are one of many, we as individuals can make a difference."In a speech titled, "Our Choices Make Our Destiny," Charles F. Luke said graduation from high school is not an ending. Friendships and memories endure, he said.

Looking to the future, Luke added, "We now enter a new phase of life, a time for each of us to contribute a verse to this play called life."

Amy Poulson's speech posed a question that probably was on the minds of graduating seniors everywhere: "Where Are We Going?"

She answered it with expressions of confidence in her classmates and qualified optimism. "No one ever fails without self-consent," she said, echoing the graduation theme of "Within ourselves our future lies."

"Now is our time," said David A. Lythgoe. Warning the Brighton graduates against pessimism and timidness in the face of the unknown that lies ahead, he said, "Let not fear keep us from fulfilling dreams."

With a full house of families and friends looking on, the 625 seniors were presented for graduation by Assistant Principal Robert Burt and accepted by Jordan District Superintendent Raymond Whit-ten-burg.
