The Cleveland Browns acquired wide receiver Roy Green from the Phoenix Cardinals and acquired tight end K.D. Dunn from the Montreal Machine of the World League of American Football on Saturday.
The Cardinals traded Green, a two-time All-Pro, to the Browns for an undisclosed draft choice. Dunn was a fifth-round draft choice out of Clemson for the Cardinals in 1985.Green, hampered by injuries in recent seasons, was the Cardinals' all-time leading receiver with 62 touchdown receptions after joining the team in 1979 in St. Louis as a fourth-round draft choice out of Henderson State.
He caught 78 passes each in 1983 and 1984 and was a Pro Bowl selection each year. His 106-yard touchdown run against Dallas in 1979 tied the NFL record.
Green, 33, caught 53 passes for 797 yards and four touchdowns last season.
Dunn, who was released in training camp by the Cardinals as a rookie, played sporadically for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Washington Redskins and the New York Jets from 1986-1989.
In 1988, he played in 15 games for the Jets. He caught six passes for 67 yards against the Buffalo Bills that year and had nine special teams tackles.
With Montreal this spring, he caught 31 passes for 321 yards and one touchdown in the WLAF's opening season.
The Browns signed Dunn in 1990, but cut him before the season.
