Melba Hall Burton, 77, died in Orem, Utah on June 30, 1991.
She was born March 9, 1914 at Bingham, Utah. Melba was the daughter of Otto Armond Hall and Alice Rebecca Larsen.As a student, she attended schools in Mapleston and Springville, Utah. Later, she graduated from Springville High School and was also a four year LDS seminary graduate. On June 26, 1937, Melba married Jack Edwin Burton. They were sealed together August 6, 1977. Mr. Burton passed away November 24, 1975.
Melba and her family traveled extensively through the United States and Canada. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and was active and faithful in the LDS Church. She served as a teacher, counselor, president and stake worker in the Primary; teacher in the MIA and historian and visiting teacher in the Relief Society. Melba loved to write and composed several personal histories for family members.
Melba Burton is survived by one son and four daughters: John Edwin Burton (Sheryn) Morgan, Utah; Shirley Ann Keyes, Scotsdale, Arizona; Mrs. Dale Barnett (Elaine) Fruit Heights, Utah; Mrs. Richard Diehl (Kathaleen) Kaysville, Utah; Mrs. Curtis Flowe (Patricia) Lemoore, California; two brothers: Armond Hall, American Fork, Utah; and Grant Hall, Springville, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 1991, at 11 a.m., in the Provo 1st Ward, 200 South 100 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening July 2nd, 6-8 p.m. at the Berg Mortuary, and one hour prior to services July 3rd. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
