Eric S. Graham is suing a styling shop over a haircut that he says was botched so badly that he was forced to wear a hat and seek psychiatric help.

The unsightly coiffure has left him ashamed and ridiculed by friends, Graham said in a Circuit Court suit filed Wednesday. He is seeking more than $10,000 in damages from a J.C. Penney Co. salon at the Florida Mall.Graham charged he lost more than 9 inches of hair in March when a stylist failed to follow his request for short hair on the sides and long, curly hair on top.

Instead, he received a haircut that was too short on top and too long on the sides, Graham said.
