Curtis David Evans, age 78, died August 17, 1991 at home, after a lingering illness.

Born November 24, 1912 to Ralph David and Edna Carter Evans in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graduated from East High School in 1933. Married Dorothy Folland on September 15, 1934, Salt Lake City. He started his career in the plumbing industry in 1948 by opening his own business, Curtis D. Evans Plumbing & Heating Co. He was the mechanical contractor for several schools in the Salt Lake Valley including Cottonwood High School. Served as a journeyman plumber in the Utah Pipefitters Local Union # 19 and became the youngest president, at that time, to hold the position. President of Utah Plumbing & Heating Contractors in 1958 and became Director Emeritus in 1973.Curtis loved to work and was an inventor (even of stories which provided fun listening and much humor). His life was his work in which he displayed great integrity.

Survived by his wife, Dorothy Folland Evans; five children, Ralph Folland Evans, Frank David Evans, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Moon (Marvin), Raymond Curtis Evans, and Kent Folland Evans, all Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Newell D. Evans, Meridian, MS; Paul K. Evans, Salt Lake City; sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Evans Cole (Keith), Atherton, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Beverly Olson Evans, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his brother, Raoul C. Evans.

Funeral services Wednesday, August 21st, at 12 noon, Larkin Chapel, 260 East South Temple where friends may call Tuesday evening 6-8 pm, and Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to favorite charity or: Community Nursing Services/Hospice, 1370 South West Temple, SLC, UT 84115.
