Della Mae Mecham Bishop, 85, of West Mountain, died July 30, 1991 at her home.
She was born July 21, 1906 at Wallsburg, a daughter of William Wallace and Mary Della Heward Mecham. She married Angus Henry Bishop, October 19, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died July 21, 1991. She was educated in Orem schools. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions in the Primary, Relief Society and Cub Scout organizations. She served a Stake Mission. She served as an ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple for about 10 years.She is survived by nine sons and a daughter and their spouses: Duane and Dorothy Bishop, Santee, California; Floyd and Nyda Bishop, Nephi; Dean and Nona Kay Bishop, Santa Monica, California; Neal and Dixie Bishop, Salt Lake City; Kieth and Noragene Bishop, Bountiful; Clyde and Charleen Bishop; Burley, Idaho; Claude Bishop, Merced, California; Loran and Edith Bishop and Dennis and Debbie Bishop, all of Payson; and Kolleen and Jay Taylor of Nyssa, Oregon; 61 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and two sisters, John W. Mecham, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Steven (Verna) Jepperson, Orem; Mrs. Fawn (Carol) Morgan, Provo; and Fred H. Mecham of American Fork. A great-grandchild and a brother, Earl W. Mecham, preceded her in death.
Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. in the Payson West 13th Ward Chapel, 3 miles West of Payson on Utah Ave. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday 6-8 p.m. or at the church Monday 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Provo City
Cemetery.
