Leilani Margetts Aposhian, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away August 23, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She left peacefully and with great calm and knowledge that she would be with her Heavenly Father and her ideal, Jesus Christ.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to H. Russell and Marion Crossley Margetts on November 1, 1941. She married Lawrence B. Aposhian on September 18, 1961, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Leilani was co-founder of Aposhian Gardens Nursery and Aposhian Sod Farms. She worked along side her husband for 25 years in their business. Throughout all her life she gave dedicated service to the LDS Church. She was a patient, loving wife and mother and was most proud of her family. She devoted her life to them. She will be remembered by family, friends and strangers as one who could always find the good in each person and situation. She loved all people and was a confidant to family, friends and strangers.She will be deeply missed by all, but not forgotten.
Leilani was the mother of six children, Marylynne (and Troy) Buford, Dallas, Texas, and David (and Sheila) Aposhian, Lani Jean (and Joel) Dehlin and Steven, Matthew and Daniel Aposhian, all from Salt Lake City; and the grandmother of three, Brandon and Cameron Buford and Sharee Aposhian.
Survived by her husband, parents, children and grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Sharon (and Lewis) Peterson, Diane (and Sherwood) Pack and Marianne (and Dave) Johnson; and a brother, Russell (and Wendy) Margetts.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27th, 12:30 p.m., at the Hunter West Stake Center, 7035 West 3605 South, with Bishop Odine Christiansen officiating. Friends may call Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services. The family suggests donations be made in Leilani's name to the American Cancer Society, 610 East South Temple (84102). Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
