Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., head of the anti-abortion caucus in the House, said Friday abortion foes have enough votes to sustain an expected veto of a bill overturning family planning regulations that bar abortion counseling.

"Our member-to-member whip check confirms that we have a comfortable margin to preserve the president's policy of separating abortion from family planning," Smith said in a statement."The vote on this issue is emerging as the most important pro-life vote of the year," he added.
