Don Ameche has wrapped up filming the new comedy "Folks" just in time to see a tribute to his 58 years in front of a camera.
A retrospective this weekend includes excerpts from 10 Ameche films, including two of his more recent efforts, 1985's "Cocoon" and 1983's "Trading Places."Ameche, 83, said he's glad the tribute will open with his favorite film, "Heaven Can Wait," released in 1943. It stars Ameche as an 1890s playboy who goes to hell and is sent to heaven in a mocking gesture by Satan.
The 1978 film "Heaven Can Wait," which starred Warren Beatty, was a remake of the 1941 film "Here Comes Mr. Jordan" and unrelated to Ameche's film.
