Donald "Pee Wee" Gaskins, the confessed killer of 13 people, died in South Carolina's electric chair early Friday, hours after he slashed his wrists and arms with a razor blade.

Gaskins, 58, went to the electric chair at 1 a.m. with 20 stitches for wounds to his wrists and elbows, said Corrections Department spokeswoman Robyn Zimmerman."We don't know if he was trying to kill himself or delay the execution," Zimmerman said. "He's a very unpredictable, cunning person."

Gaskins was executed for the murder of a 14th victim, fellow death row inmate Rudolph Tyner in a 1982 murder-for-hire plot. Tyner was killed with a homemade bomb disguised as a radio.
