Bruce Springsteen has settled for a substantial sum with two former members of his road crew who charged in a lawsuit that the man rock music fans call "The Boss" really wasn't a very good one.

Michael Batlan, 38, and Douglas Sutphin, 36, sued in 1987, charging Springsteen didn't pay them thousands of dollars in overtime from his "Born in the USA" tour in 1984 and 1985. They also said Springsteen fined them a week's pay without notice.Terms of the settlement, reached Thursday, were not disclosed. The case had been scheduled to go to court next week.
