Anna Merrill Daines, age 82, died January 15, 1992 in Orem, Utah.
She was born on February 28, 1909 in Richmond, Utah a daughter of Charles Edward and Anna Victoria Stoddard Merrill. She married Robert Henry Daines II on April 23, 1931 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1985.Anna attended schools in Richmond, graduated from Utah State University and later received a Masters degree from Rutgers University. Anna is most remember as a loving mother and grandmother. She also was a devoted church worker holding many positions in the auxiliaries. She and her husband were pioneers for the church in New Jersey, moving there in 1931 and serving in leadership capacities for 45 years. In addition to influencing her own family, she was an educator, teaching in the elementary grades and holding offices in the National Education Association.
She was deeply loved and revered by her
family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two sons and two daughters, Robert H. Daines, of Provo, Utah; Larry M. Daines, of Arcadia, California; Anna Vee Thompson, of Mount Vernon, Washington; and Marilyn Cherrington, of Orem, Utah; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Landell S. Merrill, of San Diego, California.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 18, 1992 at 4 p.m. at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State, Provo. Friends may meet at the cemetery at the time of service.
