Horace H. Rose passed away January 25, 1992 at the St. George Care Center in St. George, Utah.

He was born October 31, 1907 in Morgan, Utah to John Henry and Hilma Forsberg Rose. Horace was reared and educated in Morgan.He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Utah. Horace taught school in Carbon County, Utah, and was High School Principal in Kanab and beaver, Utah. In 1947, he was appointed Executive Secretary of the Utah High School Activities Association.

He served in this capacity for 26 years before retiring in 1973. While Executive Secretary, he traveled the state widely and organized and directed all the state high school activities and athletic finals and play offs. While Executive

secretary, he served on a number of the National Associations of High School Activities

committees.

Following his retirement in 1973, he and his wife, Mary, served an LDS West Australian mission. Horace has been a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in numerous ward and stake positions throughout his life.

He married Minerva Tuddenham May, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two daughters. Minerva died December, 1939 in Cedar City, Utah. He married Mary Tuddenham October, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July, 1983 in Bountiful, Utah. He married Hannah Hegsted Wells March, 1984 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Horace is survived by his wife, Hannah, St. George; daughter, Mary Ann Page, St. George; three grandchildren, Lanay Page, Bountiful; Kent Page, Provo; and Glen Page, St. George; four stepsons and wives, Mark and Marian Wells, Fresno, Calif.; Gawain and Gayle Wells, Provo; Gary and Marsha Wells, and Scott and Jillyn Wells, St. George; 23 step grandchildren; and 12 step great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Paul S. Rose, Murray; J. Sterling Rose,

Layton; and June (Mrs. Raymond Wiscombe), Morgan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet (Mrs. David Rose); and sister, Eva Rose Rich.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 29, 1992, at 11:00 a.m., at the Orchard 1st Ward Chapel, 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful. Viewing will be Tuesday, January 28, 1992, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and prior to the services Wednesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery under direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary, Bountiful.
