Evan H. Blackett, loving husband, son, father and grandfather, age 65, passed away January 25, 1992 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Born July 15, 1926 in Nephi, Utah to Herman and Irva Despain Blackett. Married Nadine Jones, May 27, 1947.He was a member of the LDS Church, veteran of World War II serving in the Philippine Islands. He will be remembered as a great cattleman and farmer. He managed Premium Oil in Nephi for 40 years until he retired in October, 1991.
Evan loved the desert and the wild mustangs. He was a member of the Nephi Nebo Posse, former member of the Nephi Lions Club, Nephi Volunteer Fire Department, president of the Dog Valley-Ferner Cattlemen Association.
He was a friend to all.
Survived by wife, Nephi; children, Marlow E. Blackett and wife, Laree, Morris Blackett and wife, Lisa, all of Nephi; Jeanette Middaugh and husband, Steve of Reno, Nevada; mother and step-father, Irva B. and Earl R. Howard, of Nephi; sisters, Mrs. Newell (Evelyn) Bracken, Lindon, Utah; Mrs. Clifford (Kae) Park, Layton, Utah; Mrs. Boyd (Rae) Coombs, Highland, Utah; Mrs. Larry (Loeta) Howarth, Nephi, Utah; 10 grandchildren; Justin, Mandee, Tina, Jeremy, Brady, Marci, Shane, Emberlee, Ashley, and Megan.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 1992 in the Nephi 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 222 So. 100 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 No., Nephi and Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
Burial in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
