LeRoy Hogan, 89, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Chesterfield passed away Monday, Jan.27, 1992 at the Caribou Memorial Nursing Home in Soda Springs, Idaho.

He was born May 19, 1902 at Hatch, Idaho, a son of Alma and Rachel Johnson Hogan. He married Ellen Argyle, November 28, 1923 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He had lived in the Chesterfield area for 60 years and in Salt Lake City the past 30 years. He had attended Idaho State University. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS Mission to California. He served in the bishopric as first counselor in the Chesterfield Ward, bishopric in the Hatch Ward and was a High Priest group leader. He had served as chairman of the 24th of July celebration in Chesterfield. Served on the Caribou County Fair Board and as chairman. He had been a member of the Chesterfield Land and Livestock Assoc. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had worked as a rancher and a security guard for 18 years at Temple Square in Salt Lake and for the Beneficial Life Tower.Survived by his wife, Ellen; one son, three daughters, Ross L. Hogan, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. Bill (Dolores) Hatch, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Mike (Donna) Hatch, Logan; Mrs. Gene (Shyrleen Ann) Cederlof, Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren;

34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Raymond (Verna) Mickelson, Boise, Idaho. Preceded in death by one brother, Nels Hogan and four sisters, Myrtle Grant Spidel, Elva Schenk, Diana Christensen and Mary who died at birth with their mother.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 1992 at the Chesterfield LDS Chapel at 12 noon. Friends may call Friday evening at the Allen-Sims Funeral Home, Soda Springs, Idaho, from 7-8 p.m. and Saturday at the Chesterfield Chapel from 10:30-11:45.

Burial: Chesterfield Cemetery.
