A security guard at an AIDS benefit filed a harassment complaint against Elton John, accusing the rocker of hitting him on the head, police said Monday.

Robert Simms, 29, was hospitalized with headaches and a "pins and needles feeling" around one eye after the alleged incident Friday night at Madison Square Garden, according to Fox-TV affiliate WNYW.Simms' lawyer, Bruce Baron, said John went to the front of the stage during his performance and hit Simms on the back of the head with a fist as the security guard checked the tickets of people standing nearby.

Simms was wearing a blazer that identified him as a guard, Baron said.
