Pleasant Company, creator of the American Girls Collection of books, dolls, toys and clothing, has announced the debut of American Girl magazine, designed for girls ages 7 and older.
The magazine includes fiction and non-fiction and will be available at bookstores or by subscription.The premier issue ($3.95) features 65 pages of news and information about the arts, entertainment, fashion and sports. Regular issues of the bimonthly magazine will be available starting in January 1993.
Pleasant Company says the magazine will carry no advertising or promotion of other Pleasant Company products. However, it will feature new stories about characters from the American Girls Collection - Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha and Molly - by the authors of the original books.
