When Eileen Godfrey started looking for Waldo, she never expected to find him on the same beach as a topless bather.

The mother of two said she was outraged when she spotted a bare-breasted woman in "Where's Waldo on the Beach?""I just never expected this in a children's puzzle," she said. "How can they say `for ages 5 to 12' and put a naked woman on it?"

The popular "Where's Waldo?" series of books, puzzles and other merchandise encourages children to find hidden figures in crowded scenes.

In the puzzle purchased by Godfrey, a topless female sunbather is doused with water and rises up on one arm, exposing a breast. Waldo also is in the picture, though not near the woman.

Godfrey, 32, said after finding the figure, she consulted with her husband, put the puzzle out of sight of their 5-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son, and called the store where she bought the book.

"It's very small, but the woman was definitely sunbathing topless," said Doug Rogers, operations manager at BJ's Wholesale Club, which pulled the Waldo puzzles from its shelves. "We responded seriously to the complaint."

According to the maker, 22 million Waldo books have been sold since the series was introduced two years ago.
