Juana Heppler Peterson Preston, our dear sweet sister, mother, grandmother, died October 15, 1992, in Orange, California.
She was born February 10, 1912 in San Diego, California to James Morten Peterson, Jr. and Louisiana Carrie Heppler. She married William Bowker Preston, IV, September 2, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple. Graduated from Richfield High School and from Utah State University, where she was Senior Vice-President of Chi Omega Sorority, Senior Class Secretary, 1st attendant to Homecoming Queen, and a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, a Senior Honorary Fraternity. She taught school at West Jordan Junior High for 20 years, where she had a great influence for good on many young people.In 1975, she and her husband moved to Logan where she was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Logan Literary Club. During her life she held many positions in the LDS Church and served with love and dedication.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons, Peggy (Antone Llewellen) Davis, Paulette (Bryan Edward) Yates, James Booker Preston and John Martin Preston (LuAnn); 16 grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Madge Balif (Howard), Mary Deane Andrews (Glen), and Bobette Johnson (Glendon), James Marten Peterson, and Chauncey S. Peterson (Reva), and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, a son, Billy, and three sisters, Anna Lou Brooks, Una Dastrup, and Lea Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 1992, 12 noon, Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment: Logan City Cemetery.
