Dr. J. LeRoy Kimball, who made restoring the historic city of Nauvoo, Ill., a second career, died Oct. 18, 1992 in Salt Lake City. He was 90.
Dr. Kimball specialized in cardiology and internal medicine. He practiced medicine in Salt Lake City for more than 40 years.From 1963 to 1987, Dr. Kimball was president of Nauvoo Restoration Inc., a project to restore Nauvoo homes and businesses that are historically significant to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dr. Kimball served on the board of the American Savings and Loan Association, and presided over the Nauvoo LDS Mission from 1971 to 1973.
Funeral will be at noon Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Eagle Stake Center, 135 N. A St., Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the stake center 10:45-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
