KMGR (FM-107.5) has changed call letters to KMXB, to denote its recent format change to the "Mix." So if you saved the radio log that was published last Friday, it's already out of date.

With the new nickname "Mix 107.5," the station plays the best music from the '60s, '70s, '80s and today.U.S. Radio Corp. recently purchased FM-107.5; KBCK, FM-105.7 (now nicknamed "The Mountain"); and KBBX, AM-1600, with a gospel talk/Spanish format.

KBCK may eventually change its call letters, but not at this time. Also, all three stations will likely combine their studios and offices next year to one location.

- KFMY (AM-960 in Utah County) - The station has discontinued its "Student Underground Network" (the "Sun") programming, apparently due to a lack of advertising support. KXRK (alias "X-96") is now filling the gap by simulcasting its signal on AM-960 . . . another reason why last week's radio log is already out of date.

- KUTQ (alias "The Q," FM-99.5) - "Clues to the Q" is the station's current treasure hunt, which will continue until November or whenever someone finds the hidden Q. The finder wins $10,000, including $1,000 in gold. The station provides daily clues to its location.

KUTQ has also been a big supporter of Red Ribbon activities this week, having been involved with Layton City's Red Ribbon Rally and the Celebrity Football game.

- In other station news, KUTQ is supporting the Utahns Against Hunger campaign through "The Amazing Mind Bender Hypnotism and Rock 'n' Roll Show," planned for Nov. 20 at Highland Ridge Elementary School. Tickets go on sale Nov. 8 and all proceeds go to the hunger campaign.

The Q will also be a sponsor of the Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis, set for Dec. 5 at Sugarhouse Park.

- KUER (FM-90.1) - National Public Radio's acclaimed newsmagazine show "Weekend Edition" travels to Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 24, and will for the first time transmit live from NPR's Chicago Bureau. The special show will focus on the Midwest. The program is heard locally from 6 to 10 a.m.
