Mrs. Mena H. (Nana) Kirkman, beloved mother and grandmother completed her life's journey on October 23, 1992. She passed away quietly in her sleep at the Cottonwood Care Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 95 years old.

She was born August 22, 1897 in Tamarack, Wisconsin to Johan and Pauline Larsen Husie. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Kirkman, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kirby E. (Zelda) Kirkman and a great-grandson, Travis Young. She was a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother and homemaker,She will be sorely missed by her survivors. Survivors include: a son, Kirby E. Kirkman; a brother, Mr. John K. Husie of Galesville, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Tori) Mertinger of Winona, Minnesota; nieces, Mrs. Francis O'Brien of Anoka, Minnesota; Mrs. Helen Clark, Escondido, California; Mrs. Beverly Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mrs. Vernice (Sally) Groves of Salt Lake City; a granddaughter, Kitty and Donald Young; grandsons: Kenneth and Karen Kirkman and Kirby and Christine Kirkman and the following great-grandchildren: Mrs. Kristen and husband Ryan Nelson, Dani Young, Paige Young, Kortnie Kirkman, K.C. Kirkman. Kenneth M. Kirkman, Amanda Kirkman, Kirby Matthew Kirkman all of Salt Lake City.

"Nana" was generous and kind to all of those about her. She was especially kind to animals and had a deep love of the beauties of nature. The 25 years since she lost her dear husband have weighed heavily upon her and she was prepared to close this chapter in her book of life.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1992 at 12 Noon at the Salt Lade City Cemetery, 4th Ave. and "N" Street. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday 10:30-11:30 a.m.
