Evelyn Hansen Voyer, age 79, died October 4, 1992 after a valiant fight against cancer.

She was born May 21, 1913 in Bountiful, Utah to T. Peter and Maleta Bowen Hansen. Married Thomas K. Voyer Nov. 25, 1961; he preceded her in death. She graduated in 1930 from Tooele High School as Class Valedictorian and was awarded a scholarship from Union Pacific. She attended Utah State University and received her bachelor's degree in 1934. Mrs. Voyer was hired by Utah Power and Light in 1936 and was appointed Home Service Director in 1945, a position she held until her retirement in 1979.During her career, Mrs. Voyer received numerous awards and special recognitions, including the Alumnus award by Olin Mathieson Corporation; the Laura McCalls Awards in 1950, 1953, 1957 and 1961; the Home Service 4-H Award; the Alma Award of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers in 1968; listed in Who's Who in Business Utah and Who's Who of American Women.

She is survived by a brother, Leonard L. Hansen and his wife, Evelyn; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Guy (Catherine) Hatch; and many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, 1992, 1 p.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main St., Tooele, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment: Tooele City Cemetery.
