Longtime Democratic Party insider Clark Clifford will likely die if he is tried for his role in the Bank of Credit and Commerce International scandal, his doctor says.

Dr. Wesley Oler, Clifford's doctor for 20 years, testified Wednesday in New York City that the 86-year-old defendant's heart arteries are diseased and the stress of a trial would likely cause a fatal heart attack.The hearing was ordered after Clifford's lawyer, Charles Stillman, said his client was unable to withstand the stress of a trial.
