Cyril Glenn Russell, age 95, of Springville passed away Monday, December 7, 1992 in Springville.
He was born September 30, 1897 in St. John, Tooele County, Utah to John Thomas and Agnes Charles Russell. He was the last surviving member of their 11 children.He graduated from Tooele High School. He married Catherine Orr February 20, 1926, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad for 38 years. He was a charter member of the #24 Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman of America. He retired from the railroad in 1963. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest. In his early years he was a rancher and stockman, and in later years enjoyed raising mink.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine, of 66 years; children, John J. and wife, Sheri, American Fork; Kenneth L. and wife, Carma, Salt Lake City; Shirley Hansen, Springville; Mrs. Alan (Kathleen) Moorehead, Rockville, Maryland; daughter-in-law, Rita Russell, New York. He was preceded in death by a son, Sherman, in 1987.
Special appreciation is extended to Dr. William LeRoy and Dr. Stephen Eyre, and the many other care givers who have been involved in his care.
Funeral will be Saturday, December 12, 1992 in the Springville 10th Ward Chapel, 355 East Center. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South on Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. or Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
