Marian Afton Steele Thomas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away December 8, 1992.
Born June 12, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Alex and Ina Steele. She married Henry L. Thomas on October 25, 1940, in Salt Lake City.Miriam's great joy in life was her family. She was selflessly and happily devoted to her husband and her son and his family. She was a loving wife, homemaker and helpmate to her husband, with whom she worked at Thomas Electric for 25 years. Words cannot express the delight she found in her grandchildren. She was never happier than when she was with them.
Survived by her husband; son, Richard and his wife, Chris; grandchildren, Scott, Mark and Jenny; sisters, Mrs. Dan (Helen) Royal; Irene Calton; brothers; Gordon Steele and his wife, Bonnie; Doug Steele and his wife, Edith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother, father, brother, Max and son, Tommy.
Funeral services Saturday, December 12, 1992, at 2 p.m. in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So. Highland Dr., where friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the services. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at IHC Hospice and family members who cared lovingly for Marian during these final weeks. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the IHC Hospice Care, 1245 E. Brickyard Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
