Actress Demi Moore says she wanted a role so badly in the film "A Few Good Men" that she stood in line to audition while eight months pregnant.

"I don't think I've ever been so passionate about a role," Moore said in an interview published Sunday in The Tennessean.Moore plays a young Navy lawyer in the courtroom drama, which also stars Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. She said her interest in the part increased after hearing about a movie studio conversation.

"Why is (Moore's character) a woman?" Moore said someone asked. "There is no love story and she never gets naked. What's the point?"

Moore said, "It impressed me so much to discover . . . a genderless role. What's important is what the character is going after and how she succeeds."
