Kevin Costner will star as Wyatt Earp in a film biography of the legendary Western lawman, a producer says.
Jon Slan, chairman and chief executive officer of Paragon Entertainment, said Wednesday the film will be produced by Costner's company, Tig Productions, and Toronto-based Paragon. Filming is to begin in May.Slan said the project could even wind up as two movies because of its size.
"The story takes Wyatt from his early beginnings and follows him as he goes west through Kansas and Dodge City and then the gun-fight at the OK Corral and then the rest of his life," Slan said. "That really hasn't been told in film before."
