Two unsuccessful County Commission candidates top the list of campaign spenders in this year's primary and general elections in Davis County.

Democrat Nelda Bishop, Bountiful, reported spending $7,369 in her run for the four-year seat against incumbent Gayle Stevenson. Stevenson, of Layton, reported spending $4,087 in his successful campaign.His Republican challenger in the primary, Dan McConkie, West Bountiful, spent $5,343 in his campaign.

County candidates filed their campaign contribution and spending reports with clerk/auditor Margene Isom. Candidates for state offices, including legislative seats, file their reports in the state capitol.

Mark Altom, running unopposed for the remaining two years in the county treasurer's term, filed a report that he spent $884.

Altom received the largest single contribution of any county candidate, a $1,000 donation from Alan and Kay Blood from Barnes Bank in Kaysville, Altom's former employer.

Bishop received the most contributions overall of any candidate in the county, reporting a total of $4,827. Her largest donation was $500 from the county Democratic Party.

McConkie totaled $2,625 in contributions, the largest being $800 from the Utah Public Employees Association. A state transportation department employee, McConkie is former president and currently a board member of the UPEA.

Stevenson tallied $2,700 in contributions, his largest being $500 from the Lagoon Corp.
