Golden Corn soup is a "great cream soup filled with corn" according to the Campbell's label on this newest concoction. The 103/4-ounce can sells for 74 cents at Smith's.

Don Russell: "This soup is slightly reminiscent of creamed corn, but it's runnier and not sweet. Prepared with milk, this soup yields a tasty and satisfying result. Golden Corn would be a welcome addition in Mexican dishes and casseroles. This may not be an exciting soup, but it might be a good idea to keep a can or two in the pantry."Nihla Lake: "We have always liked creamed corn and this soup tastes exactly like it. Real tasty - too bad it has to contain so much sodium."

Edyth Jensen: "We really liked this just to sit down and eat it as corn soup. I imagine it will go really well in a casserole, so I'll buy this again."

Linda C. Tingey: "There is a recipe on the soup can for chowder that sounds really good, but I just couldn't get around to trying just corn soup. I'll do the recipe during Christmas break. This will be something that people will cook with - my family would never touch it as just soup."

Rich Firmage: "Corn soup? I didn't like the looks of this soup. I didn't like the smell! I didn't like the one bite I tried. It is safe to say I won't buy this one."

Conclusion: Can Campbell's make a bad can of soup? Well, some soups are fated to join the casserole dish rather than solo in a soup bowl. Golden corn will probably join trusty cream of mushroom in achieving cooking status as an ingredient rather than a soup.
