The Iran-based Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq quoted "well-placed" sources as saying the executions were ordered when the scientists objected to the murder of Iraqi nuclear engineer Moayyad Hassan Naji al-Janabi in Jordan earlier this month."But authoritative sources confirm that the executions were carried out because the regime feared they would flee Iraq and expose the secret armament program and name the international companies which participated in it," a Supreme Council statement said.
