Rushby Carl Midgley, Jr., 78, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Monday, November 30, 1992, at his home in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born in Salt Lake City, October 16, 1914, to Rushby Carl Midgley and Mary Alice Shaw. He attended Salt Lake City schools and graduated from South High and the University of Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church and filled a mission to New Zealand from 1935-1938. He married Margaret Fuller in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, March 21, 1940. He served in many capacities in the church including bishops counselor, High Priest group leader, Seventies president, the Sunday School presidency and explorer leader.He was a mechanical engineer in heating, air conditioning and ventilating and was a founding partner of Midgley-Huber, Inc. He resided in Salt Lake and later in Bountiful. He enjoyed his family, his church, his cabin in th Uintahs, and all outdoor activities.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons and three daughters and their spouses, R. Keith and Brenda Midgley, Bountiful; Kathy and Richard Chidester, Bountiful; Margaret and Bruce Grim, Stansbury Park, Utah; Stephen Carl Midgley, Salt Lake City; Janet and Dwight Brown, Muncie, Indiana; Tracy and Joncia Midgley, Pleasant Valley, Connecticut; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis C. Midgley, Provo; two sisters, Jeanne Huber and Elline Craig, both of Bountiful.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 1991, at the Bountiful 16th Ward, 720 East 550 North. Friends may call at the Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
